Help & Frequently Asked Questions

I'm having trouble opening my unit.. How do I open my unit? (It's not as easy as it seems!)

First make sure the unit is unlocked. Once the lock is removed, you must make sure your latch is over to the left. If you're having trouble moving the top part of your latch, try gripping the door and pushing up or down on it - this relieves some of the tension, allowing for an easier sliding motion. Once your latch is over to the left, you can grab the handle and lift up, making sure to lift with your legs.

Do I need to get insurance?

Absolutely, YES. We require everyone to have their own insurance on their stored property. (The facility's insurance does not cover stored items, as it is not their property and the stored items belong to you.) Did you know - If you have any existing policy (such as homeowners or tenant insurance already), it is often very simple to just let them know you have a storage space and add a storage unit to your existing coverage!

I'm moving out soon, what do I need to do?

1) Let us know roughly when you plan to move out
2) Take a picture of your empty, clean and unlocked unit when you are done
3) Just send us the photo via text so we can close your account - we must have proof of vacancy before we can close the account.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy right?

How long is the lease or contract?

We actually offer month-to-month leases, meaning no long-term contracts! We know moving or selling your house can be a moving target, so no one is ever locked into anything long term. We just ask that you let us know before moving out, and try to move out before your next billing cycle!

What size unit should I choose?

If you're not sure, please give us a call! We're happy to help and figure out the best fit for you. In general, to help you visualize - a 5x10 unit is about the size of a small walk-in closet, a 10x10 is the size of a bedroom, and a 10x20 is the size of a one car garage. Depending on how long you're planning to use storage, you might consider sizing up or down. If you need the storage for more long-term use, we recommend sizing up to have more space and to be more convenient for you - that way you don't have to move stuff around just to get inside to find things.

How do I get access?

Our self-storage facility in Sebastian, FL is fully gated, and access is only possible with your personal keypad gate code. PLEASE call us before making a trip just to make sure you remember or have the right gate code. We do make security updates frequently and codes will change.

How do I keep my things secure?

Make sure your unit is "latched and locked" before you leave. Get into the habit of checking before you turn on the car (its surprisingly easy to forget!). Pay attention to anyone lingering around the facility or trying to follow you in. Note if anyone has taken special interest in your unit. Note the time and we can check the security cameras - we always believe in being safe, not sorry.

What if I need to switch units?

We have a hassle-free transfer process if you find out you need more or less storage space. Generally, if you are using professional movers, they are able to play "Tetris" and you'll end up using less space than expected. Some people like to have a little "breathing" room, so having a little more space lets you walk in and get items without having to move things out of your unit.
